IPCC deadlock: why governments can’t agree when the next climate science report arrives

Five meetings have failed to settle a publication date for the IPCC’s next assessment. The 65th plenary opens in Addis Ababa on October 12, and some delegates call it the last chance to align the reports with the 2028 climate stocktake.
