About Karvaan india

We believe culture deserves more than preservation. It deserves participation.

Karvaan India works at the intersection of culture, heritage, and storytelling, building spaces where India’s pluralism and diversity remain part of everyday community life. We bring together heritage walks, talks, workshops, journalism, and a community library to document, discuss, and celebrate the histories and voices that make up the subcontinent’s layered cultural inheritance.

Our work isn’t built around trends. It’s built around curiosity.

WHAT WE DO

Stories (Karvaan Media Project)

Karvaan India is not a conventional news platform. It is a long-form journalism project focused on culture, art, literature, history, and society.

Through reported features, essays, interviews, and documentaries, we explore the stories that shape communities and public life, moving beyond headlines to provide depth, context, and reflection on issues of inclusivity, pluralism, and diversity.

OUR INITIATIVES

Different projects. One shared purpose.

Heritage Walks & Tours

We conduct heritage walks and cultural tours that help participants engage with the history, architecture, memory, and lived experiences of neighbourhoods. Our objective is not only to explore the past but also to preserve credible and inclusive histories against distortion, erasure, and ideological appropriation. Every walk is designed to deepen understanding of the places we inhabit and the communities that have shaped them.

Library

Karvaan India hosts an online library with a growing collection of more than one thousand books spanning literature, history, politics, culture, religion, philosophy, and the social sciences. The library is open to students, working professionals, researchers, and senior citizens through an affordable membership programme designed to make knowledge accessible to all.

Workshops

We organise workshops that combine creativity, learning, and practical skills. Our offerings include:

• Urdu Language Workshops
• Creative Writing Workshops
• Reporting and Journalism Workshops
• Photojournalism Workshops
• Storytelling and Documentation Workshops

Three pillars

A place where culture is lived, shared, and preserved.

Community

Karvaan brings together readers, writers, artists, students, researchers, and neighbours through walks, workshops, conversations, and a shared love for ideas.

Stories

From long-form journalism and documentaries to books, interviews, and public discussions, we document the people, histories, and cultures that deserve to be remembered.

Heritage

We believe history belongs in everyday life. Through heritage walks, language programmes, and our community library, we keep the stories of places, people, and traditions alive for future generations.
